Jane Austen
Austenite Period Maquette

This Austenite female period maquette is based on the little imagery available of her at her. It is supposed to represent the timeless, lighthearted spirit of the time.

More Info
I greatly enjoyed making her, with her joyous appearance, holding a number of books under her arm to reflect on her state of mind and interests.

There could be many more maquette's to the theme of Jane Austen in a number of different expressions and postures.

Jane Austen continues to have a global following to this day. This is very obvious at the great gatherings to her annual commemoration here in Bath where she dwelled in one of the cities town houses.
